Ques: Is there any agent who can help me in getting admission into HIHT University?

Ans: No, we don’t have any agents or middlemen for admissions. All the admissions are merit based and are made through the competitive examination conducted by the University.

Ques: Is there any NRI quota?

Ans: No. The University does not have any NRI quota as on date.

Ques: How can NRIs get admission into courses conducted by the University ?

Ans: NRIs can also appear for the common entrance examination like other regular candidates.

Ques: Is there any management quota?

Ans: No. There is no management quota.

Ques: From where can I obtain the application form for admission?

Ans: While making the announcement for admission, the University provides the necessary information.

Ques: Does the University offer any distance education programme?

Ans: No. The HIHT University does not offer any programme under the distance education mode.

Ques: Is there any educational loan facility at the University?

Ans: No. the University does not give any educational loan to the students. However, it facilitates the students for getting loan from any nationalized bank.

Ques: Can I keep my personal vehicle in the hostel?

Ans: The undergraduate students are not allowed to keep any vehicle. However, the postgraduate students can keep their vehicles.

Ques: How are the medical facilities provided to the students when needed?

Ans: It is advisable that every individual takes mediclaim (health insurance policy). The University has separate norms for providing medical facilities to the students.

Ques: Is there any dress code?

Ans: Yes. There is a dress code for the Undergraduate students.

Ques: Is there an Academic Calendar for every course?

Ans: Yes. The Academic Calendar for each course is made available to the students.

Ques: What is the minimum attendance required for appearing in the University Examination?

Ans: The Academic Council of the University decides the minimum attendance required for appearing in the University examination.

Ques: Is there any semester system?

Ans: Yes. The University follows semester system. At the end of the each semester the performance of the students is evaluated and recorded.

Ques: How do I monitor my ward’s academic progress?

Ans: It is advisable that the parents remain in touch with the University authorities to know the academic progress of their wards. The University apprises the parent of their ward’s progress from time to time. The parents are advised to ensure that their current address along with the telephone number is available with the University authorities.

Ques: When and how can I meet the teachers of my ward?

Ans: One can meet the respective teacher, after taking prior appointment.

Ques: Can I stay in the Guest House of the University ?

Ans: Limited number of rooms are available in the Guest House. The room can be made available at nominal cost. One can directly get in touch with the Guest House at +91-135-2471231 for booking a room.

Ques: Can I stay with my ward in the Hostel?

Ans: No. Parents are not allowed to stay in the Undergraduate hostels.

Ques: Are students allowed to cook in their room?

Ans: No. Cooking is not permitted in the hostel rooms of the Under Graduate hostels.

Ques: Is it necessary to have local guardian?

Ans: Yes, so that in case of emergency he/she can be contacted.

Ques: Is the campus ragging free?

Ans: Yes. The campus is ragging free.

Ques: What are the employment opportunities in the University?

Ans: Whenever needed, faculty and non-faculty posts are advertised in national dailies as well as at the University website.

Ques: Is residential facility available in the University Campus?

Ans: The University ensures that all faculty members and staff, required at odd hours, is provided with accommodation in the campus.

Ques: What are the schooling facilities for the children?

Ans: A preparatory school (Vidya School) is in the campus for pre-school children. Dehradun has been an educational hub and has some of the best schools in the country. School buses help the children in the campus to commute safely from campus to their respective schools in Dehradun.

Ques: I am a surgeon but not an Indian national, can I perform surgeries or manage patients in your University?

Ans: No. Only a medical practitioner who is registered with Indian Medical Council can manage/treat the patients in India. You can work as an observer after obtaining the prior approval of Medical Council of India.

Ques: Can we serve in your University purely on voluntary basis even if I am a foreign national?

Ans: Yes. You can serve the University purely on voluntary basis in other areas such as teaching, demonstration, lectures etc. except active patient management/treatment.

Ques: Can I deliver a guest lecture?

Ans: Yes. The University invites many eminent personalities for delivering guest lectures from time to time. These lectures are arranged by the Department of Medical Education.

Ques: I wish to make financial donation. How can I do so?

Ans: One can donate for many charitable projects run by the Himalayan Institute. Donations can be made for treatment of poor people and scholarships for meritorious and needy students also. Click here for details

Ques: How do I help the poor patients? Can I contribute for this purpose?

Ans: The Himalayan Hospital ensures that free medical treatment is provided to the poor and needy. The hospital has created a separate ward called Sewa Ward.
